Performance Care:
When patients come to the Las Vegas Pain Relief Center, LVPRC, they expect results. They expect immediate improvement and do not want to be told that they have to be sidelined. Most of our professional athletes report that after their fist treatment they can return to their chosen sport with immediate improvement. After only four to five (4-5) visits we expect to see drastic improvements in strength, speed, and endurance of the affected area. If we do not get the results we are expecting, then we know the condtion has not been corrected.
To continue to develop strength and flexibility, we provide our patients with specific exercises that are essential to rehabilitation. If patients do not show improvement, we know the root cause of the problem has not been discovered, or that further strength in the area must be developed. By utilizing ART® as our largest component in our integrated process, we have a proven success rate that far exceeds ninety percent (90%) for a large range of conditions. Our goal is to completely resolve the patient's condition. We do not perform endless treatments without results. Over ninety percent (90%) of our patients require only eight to ten (8-10) patient visits. This high success rate requires the patient to follow our advice on rehabilitative exercises and home rehabilitation.
LVPRC Performance Care integrates the best in standardized and holistic treatments to deliver the most effective results. The performance care portion of LVPRC's treatment plan acts to improve an athlete's performance in his or her chosen sport. Because even subtle changes in an athlete's body can have a tremendous impact on the athlete's ability to perform, athletes need care that is aggressive and accurate. Sometimes the restrictions are so subtle it may mean only tenths of second on a runner's time or twenty-five (25) additional yards on a golfer's drive. Any athlete who wants to consistently perform at his or her maximum ability will benefit form LVPRC-Performance Care.Scar Tissue/ Adhesions Cause the Following:
The athlete's body is constantly under pressure from micro-tears in the soft tissues. These micro-tears always result in the same inflammatory process. Inflammation is a process which includes swelling or increased inflammatory agents to the area. The body responds to this inflammation by laying down scar tissue across the tissue fibers. The body attempts to stabilize the affected area and to prevent additional injury.
1. Restricted motion
2. Reduced circulation
3. Reduced nerve function
4. Causes chronic friction and pressure
5. Results in the repetitive production of yet more cross fiber adhesions in the already inflamed soft tissues.
Eventually if the condition is left untreated, the tissues become shorter, weaker and will no longer function normally. It is impossible for these tissues to return to normal function with the cross fiber scars.
Sports ART® Can Benefit:
LVPRC can help improve performance in any sport, from skiing, weight lifting, football, tennis, running, cycling, golf, swimming, and now to the fastest growing sport in the world, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). We will soon have links for more sport-specific information and current LVPRC involvement listed below.

Utilizing ART® Improves Sports Performance:
Active Release Techniques® ART® releases the biomechanical restrictions that have been created in the athlete's body. These performance robbing restrictions are seldom properly addressed which leads to future injuries and inhibits the athlete from reaching his or her full performance potential. Because most professional athletes are usually faced with incredible training regimes and time schedules, they need to be sure their injuries are diagnosed and treated quickly and completely. Countless thousands of professional athletes count on ART® to get them back into their chosen sports.
Although different athletes in different sports may present with identical pain patterns, each athlete may have completely different structures that are impaired or injured. One of the greatest benefits of ART® is that it is both a diagnosis and a treatment at the same time. The diagnostic protocols are the same as the treatment protocols, and the adhesions are often released on the first pass. Before treatment takes place, the doctor performs an extremely specific and through examination.
Advanced ART® practitioners can look past the initial point of pain and identify other structures that are involved in the kinetic chain. For example, golfers who have restrictions in their lower body may initially present to the doctor with a shoulder problem.. This is caused by the increased demand being placed on the shoulder rotator cuff structures. The golfer can no longer generate the club head speed from the lower body restrictions, and, consequently, this places more demand on the shoulders. Effective treatment of any soft tissue injury (ligaments, muscles, blood vessels, fascia, and nerves), requires an alteration in tissue structure to break up the restrictive cross-fiber adhesions and to restore normal function to the affected soft tissue areas.

When executed properly, this process will substantially decrease healing time and expedite an athlete's return to his or her chosen sport. ART® treats the real cause of the injury which usually means a complete recovery. In turn, the athlete's performance improves. LVPRC increases the athlete's "shelf life." This is why most athletes choose LVPRC!

What to Expect from Treatments:
Every LVPRC session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The ART® provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tension, movement and function of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific movements. These treatment protocols - over five hundred (500) of them - are unique to ART®. They allow providers to identify and to correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. Patients can expect restoration of optimal soft tissue texture and motion, restoration of the function of the soft tissue, and the release of any entrapped tissues, nerves, or blood vessels
Treatments take about fifteen to thirty (15-30) minutes for each area being treated. A condition may require two to ten (2-10) visits before full functionality is restored. Joint manipulations and physical therapy are frequently carried out in conjunction with ART® to increase treatment effectiveness. Whenever possible, patients perform active movements during the treatment process. Active motions stimulate neurological pathways in the spinal cord that help to reduce pain during treatment. Motion also helps to reproduce the stresses the patient will actually be under during normal active motion. Complete healing and biomechanical restoration may take several months; however, most treatment plans are six to eight (6-8) weeks of active therapy.
